"A beautiful profession," is how Marita Osswald, a horticulturist trained in Europe, describes the plantscaping designed and installed by Norvan Landscape Design Ltd.

Interior or exterior; home, office, or commercial development; their award-winning concepts create a visual ambiance that both soothes the eye and contributes to a healthier environment.
A member of the Association of Landscape Contractors of America, Norvan won the 1994 Environmental Improvement Grand Award. With a clientele that ranges from the Chateau Whistler to private homes, Norvan advises and consults with each client to create an image that is stylish and aesthetic. Marita explains that service, quality, and ethics are the backbone of their business. "If you have the right attitude and enthusiasm, everything else falls into place."

With interior and exterior crews, Norvan employs 20 to 30 people - depending on the season - who implement the concepts developed by design staff. An office or living room can be transformed from a utilitarian space into a tasteful and harmonic display of greenery that will both please the eye and calm the soul. But placing mini ecosystems is only the start; for those who lack the time, skill, or inclination to look after them, Marita and her staff will come to the client's home or office and maintain these living works of art, ensuring the lasting beauty of their investment.

Based in North Vancouver, Norvan's commitment to quality is proven by the many referrals that they receive from satisfied customers. Another interesting facet of their business is plant rentals. The film industry will call on them to provide plants that blend in with the look needed for a particular setting. Marita wryly related a call for "ugly, wilted plants," among the strangest they've received. But such versatility is a hallmark of Norvan's customer commitment.

Giving customers a professional approach to their design needs is what Norvan does best, and as their list of clients grows they refuse to compromise on that commitment. As Marita points out, "our reward is your smile." You can reach Marita Osswald at Norvan Landscape Design Ltd. located at 1365 Pemberton Ave., North Vancouver, BC.
